CMK Club Test Feedback

On Saturday April 28, Central Michigan Karate Club held the 2012 Spring Karate Testing at Mid Michigan Community College in Mt. Pleasant, Michigan.

The event had a total of ten karate students testing at various rank levels.  The senior ranking colored belt was Mr. Adam Gross who assisted in calling the commands for the 8th gup testing candidates.  The testing board consisted of five black belts: D. Resseguie, C. Simon, C. Bowden, R. Dorman and C. Hang.

Overall, the testing process demonstrated the students hard work during the semester and the dedication of each instructor.  The individual test results will be released to students this week during class by their instructor.

After the testing process was completed, Mr. Chuck Bowden helped to facilitate and narrate a brief training exercise and demonstration prepared for the students.  First, Mr. Cia Hang distributed a new pamphlet on proper breaking techniques.  He then gave a 5 minute training session on the material and completed the process by demonstrating a unique board break.  The break he performed was a front punch starting only 3 inches away from the board surface.

After the training on breaking, Mr. Bowden discussed forms and gave some insight on looking at a form from different rank levels.  Then he introduced Mr. Chad Simon who performed Bassai and Sa Woo Han Nan.  The final presentation was by Mr. Douglas Resseguie who performed Nai Ahn Chi Iron Horse (katas 1 - 3) and Chil Sung Sam Ro.

Club Testing April 28th

Central Michigan Karate Club will be hosting the 2102 Spring Testing on Saturday April 28th.  The test will be located at the Mid Michigan Community College Pickard Campus in room 112.  Doors will open at 9:00 am and the testing will begin at 10:00 am.
